My favorite album by Quincy Jones is The Dude. Every song on this album is golden! Not like he does have the midas touch but this album holds a special place in my heart.Thank you Quincy for all you do!

  2. Jonh Ingham says Boy, this raised some memories. Around the time of these records I was hanging with a gang that included Ed Eckstine, manager for Qwest. So it was only a matter of time before I met James Ingram. Neither my name or his is very common, so while I knew who he was, there was such a great look pass over his face when Ed introduced us.Of course we had to spend 5 minutes exploring family histories to see if there was a connection! Since I'm English in history and he's East Coast American there was only ever a slim possibility. He was such a gentleman, a real pleasure to have spent time with. The same with Q, who has to have one of the most amazing musical histories going. Great post.

  3. 2Serenity says I actually know another Ingrahm but spelled Ingram. I wonder if you are related to her, and she is from the East Coast too! Small world. You met the Q! Ahhh....lucky! I met him when I was 14 but I just said heya! I just was happy to meet "the dude!" Thank you for sharing your story with me here! It means a lot! =)

  6. Spike says These Jones, Igram and McDonald performances are splendid. Good post. Here's one of my favorite Quincy Jones pieces you've probably heard to death but which was new to me until recently.

  7. 2Serenity says That is my song, Spike! As a kid, I used to dance with a theater/ballet group and we were always dancing to this song and other funky songs from the 70s and 80s. Thank you for sharing. Bringing back great memories and making me want to jump out of seat and do the happy feet! Thanks for sharing, Spike.
