Lil' Mama is Poppin here lipgloss

Lil Mama's video Lipgloss gives me hope that hip hop may be changing for the better. I am not that happy with the state of the state of hip hop now in exception for the conscious hip hop that I do enjoy such as AD, the voice, The Roots, Mos Def and I know many others that I am not familiar with. I miss Heavy D, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul so hopefully the future generations will truly love to appreciate fun hip hop and not gansta rap.So, Lil Mama..you sure is poppin!She reminds me a little of MC Lyte with her rhymes!

    Spike says This is very musical, humorous, poking fun at silly shallow self-absorbed vanity, done with a light touch even though she's loud and abrasive. On the other hand, there are tool many videos showing groups of students dancing in the high school hallways.

    2Serenity says That is what I enjoyed how it was making fun but once you mentioned that it is a tool of students dancing in high school hallways -- I wonder if students are just making a mockery of their schools? That is a really good observation. Made me think of Fame up until now and I am sure this was used as a tool since the beginning of music videos. As you know US public education has just gone down the tubes. And the students know this or they just don't care? ..Makes you wonder! Thank you for the thoughts!
