MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

It's refreshing that people have such different musical tastes. One reason why that's good that hadn't occurred to me before hit me as I was thinking over my experience with lala.com in the two months since I joined up. There are people out there who want CDs that I haven't listened to in years and probably won't listen in the future either. And there are people out there to whom some CDs that I want have become superfluous. Make supply meet demand! That's how I've been able to get rid of, for example, two Cake records, RHCP's Californication, Del Amitri's best-of, Beck's Midnite Vultures, an old, non-remastered copy of Love's Forever Changes, a couple of the weaker Doors records, and redundant Dylan and Costello comps. In exchange, I've received records by Distillers, Dim Stars, Rogers Sisters, and Knoxville Girls, a Girls Against Boys album I didn't have, the Scanners debut album, a Modernettes comp, some SST-era Screaming Trees, and some Hendrix for $1 per CD. Good times. Here's a vid from GvsB (though I prefer the song "BFF"):
