Some Hefner for Sunday afternoon

Posted over 4 years ago
No, not Hugh, but Darren Hayman's twee-pop band from UK. I'm doing some writing work which is going very slowly. So what do I dial up but . . . some bittersweet Hefner love songs with their amusingly quirky lyrics. Like "I Took Her Love For Granted" from The Fidelity Wars (1999):

Can't feel disappointed when her hips are that wideBut I still feel lonely and screwed up insideAnd the taste of her tongue, it makes me wish I'd given up smoking. She was a big, big girl she had big ideas,Like how my heart should be free but I don't want it to be,I want her, here beside me.

I feel heavenly when she says I am heavenly
But she is more heavenly.

I really think the video for this song should have created a MOG posting frenzy instead of that stupid OK Go gym video. You'll see what I mean 1 minute in.

  2. chucky says Haha...I don't think that has quite the appeal of guys on treadmills. Seriously, my stomach was churning a little from the weird way their flesh was moving. I felt better once I realized they were in suits, but the queasiness was still there a little...heh.

  7. Anna says I came here for bunnies and saw penises. I'm with Ash, it took me a few to realize that they were wearing costumes and until then I was in a barf state of stomach. Some of the lyrics are precious :)
