Major threat to "Walk Away"

I'm going to vent a little - but only a little, and on an anal point that most of you won't give a flying fuck about. Franz Ferdinand's sophomore record You Could Have It So Much Better was largely a letdown - really, a caricature of the sound of their debut album and their copious influences. But it has a few stellar tunes that continue to hit me with the force of a sledgehammer every time I hear them. (We could have had it so much better, indeed!) The jangly "Walk Away" is one of these, and it's a song I enjoy playing on a guitar myself. The chords are easy enough to figure out, but the other day I set out to find tabs for the song on the web, because I wanted to confirm what a couple of the notes in the guitar solo are. I did discover what those notes are, but I was astonished to find out that every bloody tab I came across was wrong on one crucial point. They all had the chord for that "Don't you walk away" line in the chorus that follows "The sun won't swallow the sky" (in 1st chorus) and "The Kremlin's falling" (in 2nd chorus) as G major (or F, if you have a capo on the 2nd fret). But it's absolutely crucial to the song that it be G minor (or Fm, if you have a capo). It's not a happy song, for goodness' sake! See for yourselves:The official video for the song is pretty deliciously noir, but if I posted that here, people might think that in my view the video should not be re-shot with a certain mogger as the female lead, and that kind of mog-ire I would fear to provoke.
